My friend Jennifer and I went out to her sister's Thursday night and visited for a while. Her sister has two daughters that are just precious. When we got there and when we left, we had to give them hugs. We thought nothing of it.
The next morning, I was awake at 5:00 a.m. with my throat feeling like a spider bit it on the right side. I continued to lay there and toss and turn. I finally went back to sleep. Aaron has to be up at 6:30 for work so when he gets up I wake again. (still laying there wondering what is wrong with my throat) I lay there half asleep until 8:00 a.m. (I am off on Fridays) That is it, I have to go look at my throat. Wow!!! It is very red on the right side. I think I am getting a cold, dang it!! I hate being sick. I call Jennifer later and the first thing she said was, "girl, my throat hurts so bad today." I was like, "you are kidding me, mine is too."
The day goes on and I am starting to forget about the pain because I am having company this weekend and I am so excited about it. I have been cleaning my house all day long. I run to Wal-Mart and get some cough drops, take a little cold and sinus medicine and think, I will be all better now.
The friends get here and we have a good visit! I am totally not thinking about the sore throat. We go back out to Jennifer's sisters house and visit some more. We come home, stay up late visiting and then we all crash.
This morning at 5:00 a.m. I am awake again, this time the pain is all over my throat. I hate to be woke up on a morning when I have no reason to be up so early!!! I lay there and toss and turn some more. At 8:00 a.m. I get up, look up my Dr. and call, no answer. This is Urgent Care and they are supposed to be open on Sat. I am miserable. It hurts so bad, I have never had a sore throat like this ever. After I get awake and eat a cough drop, I am a little better.
(forget the no name stuff) Jeanne and I take Katy to get her facial. Jeanne used to live here so when we leave we decide to drive around so she can look around at different things. We had time to kill while Katy was getting her facial. We drive by Urgent Care, (not even realizing it) and Jennifer is pulling out of the drive. I circle around and we talk to her. She proceeds to tell us that she has strep throat and she just got a shot. I am so shocked! I then decided that I probably needed to go inside too. Jeanne dropped me off, she got Katy and I waited and waited and waited. I finally got called back. I have squirted so much Chloroseptic down my throat by then. It was getting worse by the minute. They swabbed the back of my throat, I went back out to wait. 10 minutes later, I found out I had it too!!!!! I have never had this. It is so freaking painful! I get a big shot also and I come home and take a nap. My guests for the weekend are out shopping without me and I am so mad that I am sick!!! We are supposed to go out and do something fun tonight but I just talked to Jennifer and she sounded horrible. I am not to sure how I will feel later either. Oh yeah, one of Jennifer's nieces had strep throat 2 weeks ago. I guess that is where we got it.
I was so excited about having company, now I have to sit at home and feel needles in my throat. I know I will be fine and this is not the end of the world, but I am pissed! Strep throat sucks!! Strep throat sucks!!!
